A systematic review by Ferreira FG. (2017), concludes that, although case selection must be done with utmost care, the POT appliance enables the treatment of several problems associated with the development of Class II malocclusion, thus permitting to deal with them at different aspects. Significant Class II malocclusion correction can be achieved by using the pre-orthodontic trainer appliance therapy.
