The LST appliance focuses on strengthening the lips which assists with establishing a habitual lip seal. The LST also attaches to the LT appliance, allowing it to be pulled in various directions for peri-oral muscle training. It can also serve as a standalone appliance to improve lip strength and seal through the use of the lip seal spade or training board feature (depending on desired difficulty). The LT appliance is used with all of MRC's treatment systems but can also be used on its own by practitioners offering myofunctional therapy. -
The LT focuses on improving the strength, stretch and tone of the lip and cheek muscles, while simultaneously retraining the patient's swallow. It perfectly adapts to the shape of the patient's arch which effectively engages their peri-oral musculature and is a significant improvement on the traditional 'button pull' exercise used in myofunctional therapy. The LT is used in all of MRC's treatment systems but can also be used on its own by practitioners providing myofunctional therapy. -
Improvement of breathing, tongue and chewing function, plus oral hygiene The Myochew™ has been specially designed for young children to encourage nasal breathing and improve the function of the tongue and chewing muscles, while bristle projections assist with oral hygiene. The appliance is also suitable for special needs children, who are especially prone to the previously mentioned issues. The Myochew™ provides children with a fun and effective way of correcting the problems that hinder dental and jaw development, while improving nasal breathing and oral hygiene. The Myochew™ can be combined as an adjunct in MRC's treatment systems, but is mainly used out of the box by patients directly. -
The TLP focuses on improving the strength and tone of the tongue, lip and airway muscles. The appliance was the precursor to the TLJ appliance and can be used in a similar way, minus the jaw exercises. The unique advantage of the TLP is that the press tube is not fixated into an appliance, which allows targeted training especially in the middle and posterior thirds of the tongue. The TLP can be used with all of MRC's treatment systems or by practitioners providing myofunctional therapy.
